What to expect
Kalanggaman Island is a postcard made real: a long white sandbar curving into water so clear you can see every grain of sand beneath it. It sits off Palompon, Leyte, across the Visayan Sea from the northern tip of Cebu.
Your group gets its own boat from Maya Port in Daanbantayan or from Malapascua Island. The crossing takes about 4 hours each way, so it's a long day with about 8 hours on the water, and time on the island to walk the sandbar, swim in the shallows and have lunch before the crossing back. It's a private trip from ₱20,000 for up to 4 guests, and it's customisable: message Dulce with your dates, group size and what you'd like, and she'll plan the day around you.

Where does the Kalanggaman trip start?

How long does it take to get to Kalanggaman from Maya Port?
About 4 hours each way by boat, so around 8 hours on the water in total. Plan it for a day with nothing else on.
How much is the Kalanggaman trip?

When is the best time to visit Kalanggaman?
February to May, for the clearest water and calmest crossings. The open-water crossing is uncomfortable in rough-season seas.
Do I need to bring snorkeling gear?
Snorkeling gear isn't included, but you can rent it on the island.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If the coast guard suspends sailing or conditions look unsafe, we reschedule to another day of your trip or refund your deposit in full.
