Balidbid Lagoon
A quiet saltwater lagoon on Bantayan's east coast, a short ride from Santa Fe.
About this destination
What makes it worth it
Balidbid Lagoon is a saltwater lagoon on the eastern coast of Bantayan Island, fed by an inlet from the sea and edged with white sandbanks and greenery. It's much quieter than the beaches around Santa Fe, and a good place to swim, float and spend an unhurried hour.
The water moves with the tide through the inlet, and floating along with the current is part of the fun. It can get strong at times, though, so know your limits and listen to the locals if they advise against swimming.
The lagoon is about 15 minutes from Santa Fe by tricycle or scooter, and some island-hopping trips also stop here by boat. A small entrance fee is collected by the local landowners.
