What makes it worth it
Biliran is a small island province in Eastern Visayas that packs an unlikely range of landscapes into a compact area: active volcano, multiple waterfalls, coastal hot springs, and mangrove-lined bays. It sits just off the northwest coast of Leyte and connects to the mainland by bridge.
Most visitors to this part of the Philippines skip Biliran entirely, which means the roads are quiet, the waterfalls are uncrowded, and the locals are more interested in conversation than in selling you something.

Best time to visit
December to April for dry weather. Waterfalls are most impressive after the rainy season (November) but roads can be difficult.
How to get there
Ferry from Bantayan to Palompon, Leyte, then 1.5–2 hours by bus or van to Naval, Biliran. Best combined with a Kalanggaman day trip on the same Leyte crossing.
